Huawei watching coronavirus outbreak, could attend Mobile World Congress

On Wednesday, Huawei Technologies stated, it aims to hold events around the forthcoming Mobile World Congress despite the coronavirus outbreak.

The telecoms industry event draws more than 100,000 visitors to Barcelona.

“We are keeping a close eye on matters and having to internally adjust accordingly and responsibly,” said Huawei’s spokesman after South Korea’s LG Electronics pulled out of the event due to the outbreak which originated in China.

“As it stands, London and Barca events still planned. But … things are changing constantly.”

Huawei is a big exhibitor at the event organized by the GSMA industry group.

On Tuesday, GSMA said the Mobile World Congress, being held on February 24-27, would go ahead as planned.
