A24 Secures The Rights To A Biopic On Elon Musk, With Darren Aronofsky Directing: Reports

“Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky is directing a biopic on Elon Musk at the New York-based studio A24, according to rep[orts quoting information from a source acquainted with the situation.

The source said that A24 has acquired the rights to Walter Isaacson’s biography of the richest person in the world. Protozoa Pictures, director Aronofsky’s production business, will create the Musk biopic.

“Glad Darren is doing it. He is one of the best,” Musk said in an X post on Friday.

The director and the studio previously collaborated on the film “The Whale,” which starred Brendan Fraser and took home the Academy Awards for best actor and best makeup and hair styling.

This year, A24 received 18 Academy Award nominations for six different films, second only to the massive Walt Disney company in the entertainment industry.

The late tech entrepreneur Steve Jobs was portrayed by Irish actor Michael Fassbender in the 2015 film adaptation of Isaacson’s book on the co-founder of Apple.

Powerhouse book publisher Simon & Schuster, owned by private equity group KKR, published the book on Musk in September.

The insider informed Reuters that the sale was extremely competitive, with leading studios and filmmakers also vying for the agreement.

In addition to leading the most valuable car company in the world, Tesla, Musk is also the CEO of the brain-chip company Neuralink, the tunnel builder The Boring Company, and the rocket and satellite communications company SpaceX.

After a six-month ordeal, the billionaire paid $44 billion to acquire social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, last year.
