Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has been quoted by the Telegraph as saying, he is concerned over Nvidia Corp’s planned acquisition of British chip designer Arm since it could impact competition.
Telegraph’s report also mentions that Amazon.com Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd have also raised opposition to the deal with U.S. authorities.
Earlier this year, the US FTC opened an in-depth probe into Nvidia Corp’s planned acquisition of Arm. The investigation’s findings are expected in the coming weeks, said the report.
Neither Tesla, nor Amazon, Samsung and Nvidia immediately responded to requests for comments.
In September, Nvidia is likely to seek the European Union’s antitrust approval for its $54 billion acquisition of Arm, with regulators expected to launch a full-scale investigation after a preliminary review, said sources familiar with the matter at hand.
