In a statement, the U.S. government said, it was issuing a 45-day extension to Huawei Technologies Co Ltd which allows U.S. companies to continue doing some business with it.
The development comes in the wake of the Trump Administration adding the Chinese company to an economic blacklist in May 2019 citing national security concerns.
The U.S. Commerce Department has allowed Huawei to purchase some American goods in a series of extensions that it says are aimed at minimizing disruptions for customers, many of which incidentally operate in rural America.
This further extension comes at a time when the administration has been debating on imposing further restrictions on sales of U.S. goods to Huawei.
Huawei did not immediately comment.
The existing license was set to expire on February 16.
