Production halt of Boeing 737 MAX has worldwide economic ramifications

In a significant development, for the first time in 20 years, in January 2020, Boeing Co will halt the production of the 737.

The development comes in the wake of the two fatal crashes of the 737 MAX, which led to the grounding of the plane worldwide in March.

The halt in the production of the 737, one of the largest U.S. exports, is likely to have an impact on suppliers, airlines and financiers across the globe, as well as the U.S. economy.
