Novartis’ eye care business Alcon to commence trading on April 9

Alcon will be listed in the New York Stock Exchange and on the Swiss Market.

On Friday, Novartis stated, Alcon – its eye care business which it spun-off, is expected to be listed at the New York Stock Exchange and on the Swiss Market on April 9.

“Alcon obtained approval for listing on SIX Swiss Exchange and New York Stock Exchange,” said Novartis in a statement while adding Alcon would enter the SMI, Switzerland’s blue-chip stock index, on its first trading day.

Novartis also mentioned that Alcon had secured debt financing of $3.5 billion; Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS AG are acting as advisers to Novartis on the transaction.
