Renault SA’s new Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard to meet Nissan’s CEO tomorrow

This will be the first meeting the two and is likely to be significant.

As per a report from NHK, Nissan Motor Co Ltd’s CEO Hiroto Saikawa is aiming to hold his first face-to-face discussion with Renault SA’s new Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard on Thursday. The meeting will be held on the sidelines of an alliance meeting in the Netherlands.

“I want to use the opportunity as much as possible to talk with him,” said Saikawa

Nissan’s spokesman was not immediately available to comment.

This will be Senard’s first meeting after he replaced Carlos Ghosn as chairman of Renault, last week.

Ghosn has been indicted in Japan for financial misconduct and removed from his roles at Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors Corp threatening the future of the partnership he transformed into a global industrial giant.

Ghosn is awaiting trial in a Tokyo jail, where he has been incarcerated since his arrest in November.
