Some of Altran’s operations in Europe had been affected by the cyber attack. It is to be seen whether this attack was part of the DNS hijacking attack that Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre is investigating.
On Monday, Altran Technologies, a French engineering consulting firm stated, it was hit by a cyber attack last Thursday and that some of its operations in a few European countries had been affected by it.
It went on to add, it had shut down its IT network and applications and a recovery plan was underway.
Incidentally, last Friday, Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre had announced that it was investigating a large-scale Domain Name System (DNS) hijacking campaign that hit government and commercial organizations worldwide.
