Self-driving startup Aurora expands autonomous vehicle testing to Texas

In a statement, self-driving startup Aurora said, it is expanding the testing and development of its autonomous vehicles to Dallas-Fort Worth Area in Texas.

Aurora is already testing its vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area and Pittsburgh. It will test its fleet of Pacificas and Class 8 trucks in Texas.

In June 2019, Aurora had raised more than $600 million in Series B funding which included investment from Hyundai Motor Co and Kia Motors Corp.

Aurora is among a host of startups, large technology companies and automakers which are working on self-driving car systems, and is eager to capitalize on a sea change in the transportation industry.
