Apple dismisses more than 200 people from its autonomous vehicles group

The changes are seen as a restructuring of leadership at Project Titan.

On Thursday, as per a report from CNBC which cites sources familiar with the matter at hand, Apple Inc has dismissed more than 200 employees from Project Titan, its autonomous vehicle group.

The dismissals are seen, internally, as anticipated restructuring under the relatively new leadership of Project Titan, said CNBC.

In 2018, Apple had hired Doug Field, an Apple veteran who was also a vice president at Tesla engineering, to lead the Project Titan team alongside Bob Mansfield.

As per the CNBC report, other employees who have been impacted by the restructuring have been retained at Apple.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
