Facebook is in the process of investigating the extent and scope of the security breach.
Facebook Inc has disclosed it is in the process of investigating whether a possible security breach, that was revealed last week, had impacted users of Workplace, its corporate chat app.
With the reaching the market, Facebook’s shares were down by 2% to $159.26.
According to its statement, hackers had stolen digital login codes that could affect 50 million user accounts.
It gas yet to determine whether the hackers had stolen any private information as a result of the hack or whether they had misused any accounts.
According to a spokesperson from Workplace, it currently did not have any evidence to suggest that any of its customers have been impacted.
“We are investigating and reaching out to customers directly to keep them informed,” said the spokesperson.
