With the Tokyo Motor Show opening to the media on Wednesday, Nissan Motor Co said the response to its new Leaf EV has been overwhelming in Japan.

On Wednesday, a senior executive of Nissan Motor Co stated, the company has received more than 9,000 orders for its new Leaf electric-vehicle (EV) model in Japan.

As per Asako Hoshino, senior vice president and head of Nissan’s Japanese operations, the orders for the new Leaf are much above the automaker’s forecast.
