Amazon And Just Eat Takeaway Collaborate In Germany, Austria, And Spain

The largest food delivery company in Europe, Just Eat Takeaway, announced on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to provide free delivery of meals above 15 euros ($16.13) to Amazon Prime members in Germany, Austria, and Spain.

According to Just Eat, the agreement was “mutually beneficial” for both firms without any financial stipulations.

This agreement is the first time it has worked with Amazon in Europe.

Amazon announced in late May that users of its shopping app and website in the United States may now place direct orders from Just Eat-owned Grubhub. This expands on an existing partnership that grants Prime members free access to Grubhub+ membership.

Midway through 2022, the two corporations reached an agreement.

According to Just Eat, the partnership will begin with Lieferando in Germany and Austria and Just Eat in Spain.

Amazon Prime customers and Just Eat Takeaway.com partners will both benefit from the partnership, which will begin through Lieferando in Germany/Austria and Just Eat in Spain. It brings together the ideal fusion of entertainment and food delivery. With limitless free delivery from tens of thousands of restaurants, Amazon Prime members can order anything they want, whenever they want. Additionally, by using Amazon Prime, Just Eat Takeaway.com’s partners will be able to reach even more local customers.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with Amazon so that Prime members can now enjoy their favourite takeaways with unlimited free delivery from tens of thousands of restaurants across Germany, Austria and Spain. This is a fantastic opportunity to further empower consumers’ everyday convenience, while driving more customer loyalty and affordability. Importantly, the partnership will further support our partners’ growth by opening up their doors to Amazon Prime members,” said Andrew Kenny, Chief Commercial Officer at Just Eat Takeaway.com

“Giving Prime members no delivery fees from restaurants on Just Eat Takeaway.com is another way we help members save money every day. The value of a Prime membership continues to grow with this offer, and now is the best time to enjoy the convenience, savings, entertainment – and deliciousness – that the membership provides,” said Jamil Ghani, Vice President at Amazon Prime.

Through the collaboration, Amazon Prime members will have first access to Plus, a new customer loyalty programme that Just Eat Takeaway.com will launch and provide customers a range of exclusive offers and discounts from restaurant partners and merchants. Plus will also include free delivery.* Members may take advantage of Plus’ unlimited free delivery offer when placing orders exceeding €15.00* from their favourite local restaurants, at no additional cost, by connecting their Just Eat Takeaway.com and Amazon Prime accounts.

To take advantage of the deal, Amazon Prime members may simply join up on the Just Eat / Lieferando web sites. The Just Eat and Lieferando applications and websites will be used for regular order placement, with free delivery offered. This collaboration comes after the success of Just Eat Takeaway.com’s US company, Grubhub, and its newly extended cooperation with Amazon.
