In a statement, electric vehicle startup Rivian said, it will begin taking pre-orders for its electric SUVs and pickup truck with deliveries scheduled for both in next year.
The launch editions of the electric R1S SUV and the R1T pickup truck has been priced at $77,500 and $75,000 respectively, with both vehicles having a 300 mile driving range.
Ford Motor and Amazon.com Inc-backed Rivian said, it has scheduled deliveries for the R1T in June 2021, while deliveries would commence for the R1S from August 2021.
Those who pre-order will gain early access to configure their vehicle color, battery range as well as wheels and tires, on November 16.
Incidentally, Rivian has sales order for 100,000 EV delivery vans from Amazon.com Inc.
Ford has also invested $500 million in the company in April 2020 and plans on using Rivian’s EV platform to build a new vehicle in North America.
