Nvidia eyeing takeover of SoftBank’s chip designer Arm Holdings Ltd

Bloomberg News has reported citing sources familiar with the matter at hand as saying, SoftBank owned Arm Holdings Ltd is drawing takeover interest from Nvidia Corp.

Neither SoftBank nor Nvidia immediately responded to requests for comment. Arm declined comment.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, SoftBank, which acquired Arm Holdings Ltd in 2016 for $32 billion, is exploring options including a full or partial sale or a public offering of the British chip designing company.

Last month, SoftBank had unveiled a series of transactions to divest more than $21 billion worth of stock in T-Mobile US Inc, with an aim to cut its debt and fund a $41 billion share buyback program.
