Following Apple Inc’s recall of MacBook Pro laptops for posing fire risks, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has banned them on flights.
“The FAA is aware of the recalled batteries that are used in some Apple MacBook Pro laptops,” said the agency’s spokesman while adding that the agency has “alerted airlines about the recall.”
in June, Apple had said it would recall a limited number of 15” MacBook Pro units since their batteries were susceptible to overheating and catching fire.
These units were sold between September 2015 and February 2017.
Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
