Chinese-Taiwanese consortium to decide on Japan Display rescue deal by June 14

The consortium could invest as much as $729.33 million in thr Apple Inc supplier.

On Thursday, as per a report from the Nikkei business daily, a Chinese-Taiwanese investor consortium has informed Japan Display Inc that it would take a formal decision on whether they will invest in the company by June 14.

The group had delayed an investment upto $729.33 million (80 billion yen) as part of a rescue deal since it wanted to reassess Japan Display’s prospects.

According to Japan Display’s spokesman, the report is not something the company has announced.
