Tesla slashe solar panels prices by up to 38%

Tesla’s offer is a dream come true for those aspiring to live a healthy fossil-fuel free lifestyle. Tesla’s solar roof generates solar energy without the need for traditional rooftop panels.

On Tuesday, as per a report from the New York Times, Tesla Inc plans on reducing the price of its solar panels and related equipment by upto 38% below the national average price.

The price cuts will come from standardizing systems and requiring customers to order the items online.

Tesla adopted this new strategy after having reporting a 36% drop in solar installations in its first quarter.

In 2016, Tesla had acquired SolarCity for $2.6 billion in its bid to sell solar panels in its retail stores and online and thus align both business with the company’s aspirations towards a greener, business-friendly future.

Tesla’s solar roof, which generates solar energy without the need for traditional rooftop panels, is a cornerstone of Elon Musk’s strategy to sell a fossil-fuel-free lifestyle under the Tesla brand.

Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
