The SCG won the bid to build Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory which took place in December 2018.

On Thursday, China’s state-owned Shanghai Construction Group (SCG) is slated to build the first phase of Tesla’s Gigafactory in Shanghai, reported the Shanghai Observer.

SCG’s vice-president, Xu Jiandong was quoted by the Shanghai Observer as saying it would fully cooperate with Tesla to achieve its objectives.

Incidentally, the Shanghai Observer is operated by the Jiefang Daily newspaper, which in turn is run by China’s Communist Party’s Shanghai committee.

On Wednesday, a government official from Shanghai stated, Tesla’s Gigafactory will be completed in May 2019.
