Huawei is well on its way to give a record thumping to Apple’s iPhones in full year smartphone sales.
On Thursday, China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd reported a record rise in the sales of its consumer business which exceeded $52 billion in 2018, mainly on account of its premium smartphones.
According to Richard Yu, Huawei’s head of its consumer division, the 50% jump in sales was on account of its consumer business division.
Last month, Huawei had stated, total revenues in 2018 had risen by 21% to $109 billion; it had not provided a segment-wise breakdown of its businesses.
The development comes in the wake of Apple Inc forecasting a record loss for 2018.
