Qatar will be Microsoft’s foothold in the Gulf for expanding its Azure cloud platform in the Middle East.

Qatar’s state news agency QNA has reported that Doha’s cabinet has approved the establishment of a Microsoft global data center in the country.

In 2018, Microsoft had announced plans to expand its Azure, cloud platform to the Middle East by setting up a data centers in neighboring United Arab Emirates.
