Once the deal comes through, it could provide much faster alternatives to existing Wi-Fi connectivity on airplanes.
As per a Bloomberg report, citing sources familiar with the matter at hand, Alphabet Inc’s Google is negotiating with Nokia Oyj to purchase its airplane broadband business.
The purchase could enable Google to provide faster alternatives to existing Wi-Fi connectivity on airplanes, said the report while adding that the talks were in advance stage and a deal could be arrived at much sooner than expected.
However, since it has yet to be finalized, both parties could very well decide to not follow through and back off from the advanced negotiations.
Google did not immediately respond to request for comment;
Nokia’s spokesman declined to comment.
