Audi discloses plans for its German plants

Amongst its decision includes th allocation of an electric SUV in its German plant.

In a significant development, Volkswagen’s Audi has agreed to rule out forced redundancies in Germany by five years until the end of 2025; its joint statement also states, it will build two fully-electric SUV models at its main plant in Ingolstadt.

Audi made this joint declaration with its German works council.

Ever since Audi awarded its first mass production SUV to a plant in Brussels, it has come under pressure from labor unions, to allocate an electric car project to its German plant.

“Production of the two new fully electric SUVs is another milestone for our secure future,” said Peter Mosch, its German works council chief in a statement on Tuesday.
