Once developed, the platform will not be limited to just India but can be integrated with vehicle systems globally.
On Tuesday, Bangalore-based Indian ride hailing service Ola disclosed that it has tied up with Microsoft Corp to build a new connected vehicle platform on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service to power its in-car entertainment offerings.
In a statement, Ola said, the platform will aid it with diagnostics of the vehicle, including predictive maintenance and navigation.
“Both companies will collaborate to take this platform to car manufacturers globally, to integrate with vehicle systems,” said Ola.
The announcement comes in the wake of Microsoft Corp’s CEO, Satya Nadella, visit to India.
