Tesla Motors to unveil its autonomous commercial truck in late October

The battery powered Tesla Semi will have a mile range of 200 to 300 miles per single charge.

Elon Musk, Tesla Inc’s CEO has disclosed it plans on unveiling its autonomous semi-trucks in late October, a month earlier than its previous estimate.

“Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride tentatively scheduled for Oct 26th in Hawthorne,” tweeted Musk.

Tesla’s autonomous semi-trucks has tantalized the trucking industry with the prospect of a battery-powered heavy-duty vehicle that can not compete with conventional gas-guzzling peers, which can travel up to 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel.

In April 2016, Tesla had unveiled its plans for new electric vehicles, which included a commercial truck called the Tesla Semi.

Tesla has made made significant headway in the implementation of self-driving technology and the Tesla Semi could potentially make headway in the highly competitive arena of commercial transport.

Tesla’s electric big-rig truck is likely to have a mile range of 200 to 300 miles.
