It is set to be cheaper by $40 from the original Echo’s asking price.
Those of you who were holding your breath till Amazon releases its new Echo dot gadget can now, thankfully, take a deep breath and relax: Echo’s official Twitter account by mistake released the all-new and cheaper Echo Dot.
Having realized the mistake, it quickly deleted the Tweet.
It need not be a mistake altogether, since it could be a strategic tweeting tease by the company to drum up interest for Echo Dot’s eventual launch. This tactics is common among celebrities.
Case in point: Apple accidentally revealed an iPhone 7 accessories landing page, before its flagship was announced and launched.
Either way, the post, as strategized, has quickly gained interest among consumers with @Indypodcaster saying the new device will set you back by $50, i.e., $40 less than the original’s asking price.
You will have to keep your click happy finger in control for a while longer in case you want to snag one, since Amazon.com has yet to officially announce its new line of Alexa-powered speakers.
