Walmart Pay helps in streamlining its checkout process

Although it sounds like a competitor to Android or Apple Pay. It isn’t. The service has now been launched in nearly 14 states.

With Apple and Samsung having their own payment systems, it would only be natural if Walmart joins the party; so when it announced that it will release its national payment services from July 1, it certainly wasn’t kidding.

Walmart has launched its payment services in more than 14 states across the US and as you may have correctly guessed it, it’s called Walmart Pay.

The payment system has been launched in heavily populated cities including New York, California and Washington, so it’s very likely that your Android or iPhone could come handy the next time you visit the retailer’s chain.

Unlike the competition, Walmart Pay doesn’t just provide tap-to-pay options, instead its aim is intended to streamline its checkout process using QR codes. With the service just being launched, it’s far too early to say how well the practice is going to be adopted by the shopping public. If customers adopt it wholeheartedly, yay, otherwise, Walmart engineers will have to have more brainstorming sessions to come up with other means to streamline its checkout process.
