Google secures your Gmail with its two-step Verification Process

Google’s Two Step Verification process can help you block hackers from accessing your Gmail account.

In this digital age hardly a week goes by without there being a report of a hacking incident. There must be many such incidents which are quietly deat with and do not see the light of day.

So as to mitigate such issues many companies have turned to two-factor verification schemes for their devices and services. So as to ease the integration of this two-factor verification scheme and yet make it much harder for the potential hacker, Google has streamlined its method for sign-in requests.

Google’s solution, called Google Prompt, allows you to approve or deny such requests with a simple YES or a NO pop-up, rather than receiving a text, setting up a separate security key or a confirmation e-mail.

When you login to your Gmai account or into other Google products, a Google Prompt notification will pop-up on your phone or computer system, asking you to approve or deny the login request.

This notification will provide details about your profile, location from which the request has originated as well as the device from which you are trying to login from.

This new feature has already part of the update in Google Play services in Android. So make sure you keep it fully updated.

For iOS users looking for this feature, you will have to install the Google Search app and enable it from your ‘My Account’ page. However, if you prefer to stick to the antiquated approach, you can still do that.
