In a letter to his employees, Marwan Fawaz, Nest’s CEO, has reassured his employees that the company is not going to be put up on the block for sale. He went on to say that the company’s focus is on delivering the new products that are in the works. This will, to a great extent, sooth vexed nerves.

Despite the fact that one specific reference to a new gadget was redacted in his letter, Tech Insider has reported that this new gadget is likely to be an outdoor version of the Nest Cam.

When requested for comments on this report, Nest politely declined to do so.

If this were in fact to be true, an outdoor Nest Cam which works in tandem with your indoor security gear, could make a lot of business sense. Although there have been instances of users connecting a camera outside to get a live feed, since these are not designed keeping the weather and its elements in mind, such solutions are hardly appropriate.

Apart from bringing out newer products, Nest is all set to bring out a new colour scheme to the Nest Thermostat. You can soon replace its signature silver rotating ring with more options the company provides. Although this is hardly ground breaking announcement, it could still be significant for those who want to have the Nest Thermostat harmoniously blend into their home.
