Spotify or Apple Music the choice is yours. Both offer more or less the same content.
Although of late Spotify has tried to lure more users with its Family Plans offer, it has seen its services beaten by rivals, including Google and Apple, by offering a sweeter price.
In order to zip past the competition, Spotify has now increased the size of the family (or friends) to be 6 and has offered this lucrative deal for just $15/£15/€15 a month.
Earlier purchasing 5 accounts would have cost double the moolah.
With Apple Music gaining increased traction, Spotify is doing all it can to get one up against the competition.
Earlier this month, Apple had launched a scheme which targeted students whereby any students in 7 countries could enjoy a 50% discount on their membership, if they can prove their eligibility criteria. For Spotify, for a change, Apple was playing catch-up since it had already implemented a similar scheme more than 2 years ago.
For both, the competition is heating up a notch since both service providers offer very similar catalog of music, barring the off exclusive, which makes price the deciding factor for consumers. However, both players have yet to show any willingness to drop prices to levels that other platforms have set.
The good news for you is that, if you have already signed up for a Spotify Family Plan or manage one such account on your friend’s behalf, do note that next month onwards Spotify will charge you only $15/£15 a month, until its next price revision.
