Users should ensure that follow-up consultations fees are covered by their respective medical insurances.
In efforts to combat the critical shortage of mental health professionals in the United States, Walgreens announced its partnership with Mental health America last week wherein it will offer screening through its website.
The service will evaluate mental illnesses including PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder and a host of other mental illnesses
If as a result of the screening a mental health issue is observed, a representative from the MHA will come and the help the user find and schedule an appropriate treatment nearby.
In efforts to streamline its operations, Walgreens is also working on a system to automatically upload conversation and notes from these visits to its electronic record system at your primary healthcare physician’s office. However, in case there is no qualified medical health practitioner in the area, users will have the option of discussing the matter with one of its state-licensed psychiatrists or professional therapist over the phone.
Users should ensure the fact that all follow-up conversations are covered by medical insurance, failing which such services will on average set you back by $60.
The question that you should be asking is – is that price too big to get a handle on your mental health.
