A spokesperson for Xbox has confirmed the backward compatibility for multiple discs on Xbox One.
Gamers will rejoice at the news that Xbox has now rolled support for backward compatibility games that span multiple discs, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut.
This means that players can now look forward to playing classic games which were popular on Xbox 360, (Mass Effect 2 anyone?), on the Xbox One.
“We know fans were asking for this feature and our engineers worked hard developing a solution to enable it so we could further expand the titles included in Xbox One Backward Compatibility,” said Xbox’s spokesperson in a statement.
He went on to add, “We’re continuing to listen to our fans on Xbox Feedback and work with our publishing partners to grow out library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles and will work to include more multi-disc games.”
This piece of news broke on a Reddit post and linking it to a story on GamerHeadquarters wherein Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, a spokesman for Xbox, replied to the thread thus corroborating the report of backward compatibility for games with multiple discs.
“I can confirm that the BC team has done work to support multi-disc scenarios,” wrote Hyrb. “Be sure to thank the BC engineers.”
Thank you for the backward compatibility functionality Xbox engineers. Very much appreciated!
