This is still unconfirmed since the engineers have listed their employer in their LinkedIn profiles as Apple.
Apple has had a hard time holding on to the original members of its Siri team. A precious few of its core founders are still hanging on. Unfortunately, one more bird has left the nest: Darren Haas, one of those few precious co-founders of Siri who headed its computing focused cloud engineering, has left the company. He has joined his alumni Steve D’Aurora, who left Apple a few weeks earlier, at GE.
Both software engineers are supposedly working on a competing cloud platform at GE. However, there is no official confirmation, since both employees have listed their employer as Apple on their LinkedIn profiles. Furthermore, Apple has yet to confirm their move.
Despite these noises on the grapevine, it’s possibly a little disheartening for the folks at Cupertino. Although this might not be exactly a fatal news, it is however a symbolic loss for Apple who was the first company to introduce voice driven commands in mobile computing.
