Cute and functional, the smartwatch can make and receive calls, has an SOS button, and allows for setting up a virtual fence around the wearer. Costs just $49.
For its smartwatch categories, Xiaomi not only has an adult population in mind but it also wants to explicitly have kids in its target group for its wearables segment.
Xiaomi’s smartwatch for kids, labeled as the Mi Bunny Smartwatch, is unlikely to be the apple of their eye (pun intended), but despite being non-revolutionary its simple functions which include making and receiving calls, tracking the wearer’s whereabouts, and its asking price of 299 yuan, or roughly around $46, could make it popular with kids. There is currently no other smartwatches for kids at this price point.
Besides making and receiving calls, the Mi Bunny Smartwatch can also build a virtual fence around the kids, which the parents will first have to setup. Furthermore, it also comes equipped with a SOS button, which the children will have to press, that will send the current location coordinates to the parents’ smartphone in seconds.
Although Xiaomi has yet to disclose the Mi Bunny Smartphone will be available for sale across the United States, you can nevertheless check out its features here.
