Opera’s developer edition sports native VPN support

Its latest developer edition promises increased privacy with native VPN support.

For those of us who had to resort to using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) in order to dodge content restrictions and/or improve web privacy, installing third party client or using a relatively less popular browser with this built-in feature, is a routine matter.

However with the developers of Opera catering to this specific requirement, VPNs have joined the mainstream: a developer version of Opera sports a native support for VPN. With the flick of a switch, users will now get a 256 bit encrypted connection which is likely to effectively prevent and block sites and government restrictions from content that you want to access.

The developer edition currently provides you with a limited simulated locations which include the U.S., Germany and Canada. Hopefully, once the browser is consumer-ready, the number of such locations will increase. The VPN access is free.

So for those of you who want access to those forbidden streaming services or want to make it harder for those monitoring your traffic, using the developer release of Opera could be your most affordable, smart and easy solution.
